Once we receive your completed Volunteer Application, we will contact you to schedule a convenient time to meet with you in person and talk about your goals. This meeting is to determine how to best match your passions with the needs of our families.

After your interview, we will need to do a simple background check. We utilize Sterling Volunteers to conduct in-depth background checks at minimal cost to you.

You will also be asked to complete a short medical questionnaire. Both of these procedures are necessary for the protection of our children and families in treatment. Your personal information will be kept in the strictest confidence at all times.

Finally, we will ask you to attend a short orientation session. This is designed to help you get the most out of your volunteer experience. We will work with you to schedule a convenient time for the orientation. This orientation will cover the following:

> Overview of programs and services
> Information on the nature of addiction
> Confidentiality and protection of client rights
> Description of specific tasks to be performed
> Volunteer rights and responsibilities
